In the accessory trade, '9H' refers strictly to ASTM D3363 pencil hardness—it means the glass will not be grooved by a 9H graphite pencil lead pressed at a 45-degree angle under a 750-gram load. On the mineralogical Mohs scale, standard soda-lime glass sits around 5.5, which is easily scored by quartz sand (Mohs 7) found in pocket lint and sidewalk dust.
Mobilone installs dual-ion-exchange aluminosilicate glass. The glass is submerged in a 420-degree Celsius molten potassium salt bath where larger potassium ions substitute for sodium ions in the glass matrix. This creates a surface compression layer over 45 microns deep. On the Mohs scale, our aluminosilicate achieves Mohs 6.5 to 7.0, withstanding brass keys, copper coins, steel razor blades, and abrasive granite sand.

Cheap glass relies on standard acrylic adhesive that causes micro-refraction and prism rainbow banding under bright sun. We use high-purity optical silicone clear adhesive (OCA) with a refractive index of 1.49, matching the refractive index of the smartphone's native display glass.
Optical transmittance measures at 98.8%, meaning less than 1.2% light attenuation. Colors, contrast ratios, and 120Hz refresh rates remain entirely uncompressed. Our vacuum-sputtered fluorosilane oleophobic layer delivers a water droplet contact angle of 115 degrees, preserving silky finger glide and resisting facial oils for over 8,000 abrasive wiping cycles.

Stiff glass cannot bend around an edge without continuous downward tension. Retail flat protectors leave a hollow air gap along the curve, known as the 'halo effect', or they only glue the outer black border, which ruins touch sensitivity and lets pocket dust crawl underneath.
For curved displays, we offer two verified technical solutions:
- Self-Healing TPU Film ($15–$40 installed): Multi-layer thermoplastic polyurethane that wraps down the curve and absorbs shear force without cracking.
